A slightly different style of newsletter. In January 2020, I embarked on an insane writing challenge to write 365 short stories. Each story was based on randomly chosen single words.
Now, my plan is to share some of the stories that I wrote in newsletters. I also plan to share what I learned during the challenge.
For example,
I found that a solution to my problem of never finishing a novel. This I solved by writing the first draft as a series of short stories. Nothing new but it has helped me to frame the entire story. This has given me a new approach to writing.
In February, I plan to share 12 of short stories. Most of these are the original manuscripts. The offerings are as follows:

#130 ECHO from the 365 in 2021 challenge. NEW! WHO AM I Series. I found myself in a dark place. All I could hear was this faint echo in the distance. Who am I, where am I and why?
#134 Elevator from the 365 in 2021 challenge (DCI Chance Series - Part 1). DCI Chance lands a supposed suicide case, but the discovery of a little gem stone reminded him of another similar case. McBride had ordered Chance to close the case as a suicide, but Chance was sure it was murder and linked to a previous case.
#118 Revenge - from the 365 in 2021 challenge (Part of the comical tales of Yorkie). Yorkie takes a job as a service engineer. This means he gets to travel and escape the clutches of sex-crazed girlfriend, Olga. His one and only night off from Olga is disturbed by the couple in the room next to him at the hotel. So, he decides to get his revenge on the mystery guy in the room next to him.
#97 Enough - from the 365 in 2021 challenge (Part of the Comical Diary of Emily Rae). A popular character who features in the Comical Diary of Emily Rae. She’s retired but not dead, yet. Emily continues her tour of Europe on the little red Vespa. She had invested in a GPS and let her guide her on her way, but to where?
#119 Private - from the 365 in 2021 challenge (Part of the Frank and Mildred storyline). Mildred’s sister has been knocked down by a car. When Frank bumps into Mildred at the hospital, he realises that it wasn’t Mildred’s sister he had been talking to in a private room.
#376 The Room from the 365 in 2021 challenge (New Cavendish and Wilcox series). The is an exciting new detective. DI Cavendish and WPC Wilcox are not part of a detective team, but end working several unusual cases together. WPC Wilcox is called to house by concerned neighbour. She finds the body of elderly man living in his own museum, but for one room. The young and dashing Detective Cavendish is left to unravel the mystery of the room.
#110 Mimic from the 365 in 2021 challenge (Dave Stokes & Maggie Fuller storyline.) Dave and Maggie have a very turbulent relationship. Dave has struggled to find a job and find himself dabbling in all sorts of things. Maggie had encouraged Dave to find another job so she could get some peace and quiet. While unemployed Dave had added another rare skill to his resume.
#114 Abducted - from the 365 in 2021 challenge. A moving story for any parent who has a child go missing. Young Jack finds a vital and priceless clue that motivates an army of volunteers to find the lost little Maria O’Donnelly.
#109 X-Ray - from the 365 in 2021 challenge (New storyline ‘Stranded in Town’). Patrick Power finds himself stranded in town again. With the streets sealed off, he comes up with a cunning plan for a free warm and cosy bed for the night.
#96 Unimaginable - from the 365 in 2021 challenge. When COIVD19 raged through India, Amit became one of the one hundred and thirty-nine million people stranded in the the countries cities. He had a choice stay or make the seven hundred mile journey home.
Kaleidoscope - Game On (Chapter 1 - Tittynope). This is a novel I struggled to write. It is now written in twelve parts and I plan to share as twelve stories
